This piece is based upon the X-men character the Phoenix.
When I first started drawing this piece I decided to make Jean Grey (Phoenix) look as though she was just accepting the Phoenix force and that it was consuming her. I wanted it too look as though the Cosmic force of the Phoenix was looking down on to it's new host.
Once I had finished my first sketch of Jean Grey, I decided I would then colour in the piece with basic colouring pencils and use fine liners in certain areas of the drawing to help draw the eye to certain details.
